Security risk is rarely confined to a single control, facility, or function. It emerges from the interaction of assets, people, processes, technology, threats, and operational dependencies.
Erika earned her Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota and began her career in private practice, representing clients in civil and criminal matters and advising businesses on contracts, transactions, and regulatory compliance. She later served for more than 20 years as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force. In that role, she advised commanders and operational units on military justice, administrative law, government contracts, international law, rules of engagement, personnel matters, and regulatory compliance. She also led legal teams, managed complex litigation and investigations, and provided legal oversight for high-value government contracts.
Her experience in high-consequence environments shaped a leadership approach grounded in disciplined analysis, ethical judgment, discretion, and clear communication. Under Erika’s leadership, The North Scout Group combines expert security assessment with responsible, human-centered applications of artificial intelligence to help government and mission-driven organizations identify risk, make well-informed decisions, and act with greater clarity and confidence.
Our assessment experience includes work for a nationally recognized financial services organization serving military-connected customers and a public commercial spaceflight authority responsible for complex aerospace infrastructure and operations. Client identities are withheld in keeping with our commitment to discretion.
